Nitrean (At Large Nutrition)

Nitrean (At Large Nutrition)

Nitrean is one of the premier protein products on the market today. It is superior to any whey-only powder with its blend of whey (isolates, concentrate, and hydrolyzed), casein, and egg proteins. In addition, it is one of the best mixing and tasting products available.

I've tried many many proteins over the years, but this one stands out from the rest with its superior nutrition profile. Aside from the usual whey protein isolate/concentrate blend, this protein contains: casein isolates, egg albumen, bovine serum albumin, glutamine peptides, etc.

If you've ever tried a protein containing casein/egg proteins, you're probably aware of the issue they have with mixing. This product mixes amazingly well given it's nutrition profile. In fact, it mixes much like you'd expect a high quality isolate to mix - no unwanted clumps or anything of the sort.

As far as taste goes, this product also does well. I've tried Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry. The Vanilla and Chocolate taste a little better than your average protein, but the Strawberry flavor is delicious - much better than the ON Strawberry. All of the flavors have a 'different' and more genuine taste than standard whey proteins, but it's difficult to describe without actually trying it yourself.

Price is the only real drawback with this protein. Although as of late, whey prices and consequently whey protein prices have risen substantially, making this a better value. This product is priced competitively with the likes of Optimum Nutrition's beloved protein. Given a choice between ON Gold or Nitrean, I'll take the Nitrean every time. If you're planning to spend a wad of cash on protein and you're tired of the same old ON, give this a shot.
