Whey is the preferred protein source in sports and bodybuilding nutrition because it contains branched chain amino acids - made up of Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine - which are important for the maintenance of muscle tissue. Unlike some other incomplete protein sources, whey contains all of the essential amino acids that are required in the diet. User reviews

Written by CharlieS - View all my reviews But it works. A friend and I both went through a bottle and compared results/success. Both of our maxes (measured bench+squat) went up 15%+. The nutrition profile looks pretty simple and almost a little high on carbs/fats but in the end this formula works. The mix was a little less then to be desired but with a good shaker, blender bottle, or mixer, this is no problem. The taste is basic, but I've had far, far worse. As far as side effects, at the very beginning only experienced a bit of frequent bathroom usage, probably due to not tapering up. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful

Written by ponshoe - #1 reviewer - View all my reviews Mixability: 8/10- It mixes well on a blender or on a shaker, but if youīre going to use a spoon and a glass, you will get clumps. Ingredient Profile: 8/10 - Judging by price, i think the ratio of Isolate Concentrate is ok and it has the right amounts of carbs and protein, i still consider it a low carb protein ( maybe not the lowest ). I canīt give it more, cuz i dont like the fact that it has creatine in it, it limits daily consumption. Price: 10/10 - come on, $13.99 at walmart for a 2lb pounder, you canīt beat it Taste: 8/10 - The taste isnīt that strong or that light, it has the right amounts of sweetness ( a bit more than less ) and i prefer the chocolate over the vanilla version, vanilla version taste like plain water. I highly recommend it to anyone who is starting to bodybuilding or anyone who is serious on subject. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful

Written by Beast2Be - Top 50 reviewer - View all my reviews Taste - I figured this stuff would taste absolutely horrible. Considering it's from Wal-Mart and only cost $14, I wasn't expecting much. But this stuff actually tasted pretty dang good. It's no Muscle Milk chocolate milk, but it definitely taste better than ON Gold Standard and Dymatize Elite Whey. I bought the Chocolate Flavor and highly recommend it! Ease of Mixing - Considering it's mainly WC, I was expecting the mixing to be rather hard. It ended up being relatively easy actually. I threw 2 scoops in a shaker and it was fully disolved within 15-20 seconds of shaking. Value - Honestly, how could you go wrong? The profile is good and it's extremely cheap! Rather than spending $40-45 on most protein powders, you can buy 2 tubs of this for under $30. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful

Written by phrozen5100 - Top 5 reviewer - View all my reviews Taste - I'd heard many bad things about this stuff. "It's dat' dere' Wal-Mart protein - it surely sucks!" I took my chances anyway and took a sip. The taste is surprisingly clean, but very faint/bland. I greatly prefer this over those horrid protein powders with a rich and disgusting taste, but I it's just a matter of personal preference. I've tried only Vanilla, so I can't speak for the other(s). Ease of Mixing - For a protein based on whey concentrates, this stuff mixes quite well. It's not quite as some pure isolates, but it's still pretty impressive for what it is. Value - Not really much to complain about here. I wouldn't go purchasing this over the many finely-priced proteins available on the thing we've come to know and love as the Intraweb, but it actually is competitive price-wise and makes for a great last resort with the 2 lb. containers. Other - The nutrition profile is pretty solid here for a budget protein. The availability of this stuff is, well, unmatched. If you're like many Americans, you might have a Wal-Mart gift card sitting neglected in your wallet - here's a good chance to use it. Overall, this stuff isn't nearly as bad as 'they' say. The nutrient profile is solid, the price is solid, and the taste and ease of mixing are both pretty decent. If you're in a clutch, or you just feel like donating your money to that poor mom and pop operation known as Wal-Mart, then don't be afraid to try this. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful
