Written by phrozen5100 - Top 5 reviewer - View all my reviews Taste - I've had Vanilla and Chocolate Mint. The Vanilla tasted nice, smooth and not nearly disgusting as the regular Whey Tech Vanilla. I'd describe it as tasting much like the Body Fortress Whey sold at Wal-Mart but with a stronger taste. Chocolate Mint was a little disappointing to me. This may be because my prior Chocolate Mint experience was almost mind-blowing (Dymatize), but it was a disappointment nevertheless. It's not a bad taste at all, but the mint was nearly nonexistent in the flavoring. I wouldn' describe this as a huge step up from the regular Whey Tech Chocolate. Ease of Mixing - This does pretty well for itself. It mixes very much like ON 100% whey, with only minor clumping. Value - I picked this up for a mere $17.00 per jug. It was a hell of a value back in those days. Recent pricing indicates that this is now much more than that. I can't honestly say that this is a good value. The only real positive note is that this is available at Vitamin Shoppes and is likely cheaper than rival proteins at GNC. Overall, this is a pretty decent protein, but it still can't compete with the likes of American Whey and Scivation Whey in terms of value. Actually, it can't compete with American Whey in terms of taste either. I'm no American Whey shill, but the numbers don't lie (and I certainly wouldn't lie about taste). 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful

Written by slycat - Top 50 reviewer - View all my reviews Mixability is also very good - in my opinion, if it cannot be mixed easily with a fork/spoon, it cannot score high for mixability. I mean, everything can be pulverized if you use a high speed blender. It is deceptive for users to rate a powder high when they use a blender. I am very glad to say this really mixes very easily and yet no major clumping. End liquid is slightly clear and milky. I attribute this to the high amount of isolates in it and also its instantized nature. This was a major pleasant surprise! Great potential for adding other powders to. Finally, it tastes just fine. A little old school but in a good way. Non gritty and I have tried all their flavors - best probably vanilla or chocmint. You will not be disappointed with this one. I love the fact that its low price does not come with any compromises! |
