Golden Finish (Controlled Labs)

Zero side effects... that's always good. As for affects, they are pretty decent, but I just find that a homemade shakes value for the money is so much better than this. And the taste is not exactly that great either. Plus, you can customize a homemade shake to fit your needs, but with this, you are stuck with the ratios that Controlled Labs has already set for you. The mixability is great, and, again, no side effects. So when it comes right down to it, it's up to you to decide whether you want to spend the extra time devising a home made post workout recovery shake, or the extra cash. Personally, I'd go with the home made shake. I was rather disappointed with Golden Finish.

Golden Finish is a post-workout recovery product, intended to replace the classic whey shake. GF combines whey protein and fast-acting carbohydrates to get nutrients into your muscles in a hurry. The only drawback is that the carb:protein ratio (25:20) isn't optimal, in my opinion - I usually like a 2:1 ratio, but that's personal preference. Definitely a good product for someone who doesn't feel like mixing up their own shake or eating a meal, just a bit on the pricey side. The tropical island smoothie flavor is awesome, however.

Golden Finish is designed to be the "be all and end all" of recovery products, combining protein and quick-digesting carbs for maximal growth and recovery. While the formula is impressive, it doesn't contain as many carbs as I prefer in my PWO (only 25g carbs per 20g of protein). This would mean I have to add more carbs, which basically defeats the purpose - I'd rather just buy whey and mix it with something cheaper and save a lot of money. Still, a solid product and an excellent taste- it's like drinking gummy bears.

I love all Controlled Labs products, its a very reputable brand because of its high quality supplements, amount of servings and prices; three aspects that beat many others. When Golden Finish was released i bought a tub to experiment a change from my previous Post workout supplementation ( Torrent ) and for my surpise it was better than i thought.

Taste: 9/10 A very original flavor in my opinion, its well balanced, not too sweet and not too bitter. I always took it with water with no complains at all.

Price: 7/10 The only thing i hate about Post workout supplementation, its the price of almost all of them. Golden Finish servings are limited and only lasts a few days, but considering the fact that you dont have to take it everyday and that your POST nutrition will be replaced, it can save you some money.

Mixability: 10/10 I had no problems with the mixability, on either a shaker or a spoon and glass. It can remain some powder at the bottom, but just stir it or shake it and its done.

Profile: 9/10 One of the best/purest/fastest proten sources, good carb sources without shitloads of dextrose or simple sugars. Plus recovery factos and BCAA´s
I recommend it by far, one of the best around the market.

Controlled Labs has truly won me over with this one. Although the price is relatively high, this is a great post-workout recovery product. Before using Golden Finish, I used Real Gains post-workout. I feel that the extra-carbs/BCAA's speed recovery time and rebuild muscle like none other. Now that im cutting, I had to cut out the weightgainer and give this a go.

The addition of Hydrolyzed Whey and Whey Isolate make this product better than any other post-workout supplement. Considering these are the 2 fastest absorbed proteins, they cannot be beat. It's nice to know that your getting an immediate delivery to protein to your muscles. Also, the addition of Aminogen and Carbogen make this product special. Considering carbohydrates are necessary post-workout to rebuild your muscles and feel them back up with glyocgen, this makes for a great addition.

I used this product when it first hit the market and I could not be more satisfied. The increased recovery time has made a huge improvement on my training. Im not sure for days after a workout like usuual, but im perfectly ready to hit the gym the next day. I've heard a few complain about the taste, but I thought it tasted great! The only complain I have is the price. It would be nice if it had 20 servings rather than 15. But overall, a great product!

Controlled Labs has made me a believer in their brand. A product that certainly will rock the post-workout recovery world. My previous experience with post-workout products was 2:1:1 Recovery which worked great, but this product in on a level with 2:1:1 Recovery and depending on who you talk too could be better. A product that had a interesting taste to begin with, but it makes me want to eat it without adding the water. I reviewed this product before Torrent.

Taste:The taste was wonderful and I found myself trying to eat the powder. Like Torrent, it grows on you. The only downside is the leucine aftertaste. Torrent does taste truly tropical

Benefits:There were no cramping at all and my soreness from legs was less than usual. This is from the GFH Complex which helps reduce muscle soreness and cramping due to electrolytes and other ingredients. My bench max did not go up, but my vascularity and fullness in my muscles were evident.

I give it a 4.5 out of 5. The taste is good, recovery out of this world, you feel stronger, and the label pulls you in.

Directions
