The main active ingredient, 4-AMINO-3-PHENYLBUTYRIC ACID HCL, is a derivative of GABA that actually acts as a GABA receptor agonist and also causes significant release of GABA in the brain. The attached phenyl group acts as a carrier which enables this form of GABA to successfully breach the Blood Brain Barrier and has shown to regulate levels of GABA within one hour of administration. Clinical studies have shown significant anxiety reduction, decreased physiological responses to stress and reduced episodes of insomnia. It also has indicated anti-arrhythmic and cardio protective properties.

Most scientific studies suggest that the proper dosage should range between 500-1000 mg per day. For the best anti-stress and fat loss benefits, NEUROBALANCE should be taken about 2 hours before going to bed. To fight high-stress and anxiety during the daytime, NEUROBALANCE can still be taken to achieve the anti-stress results.

Neurobalance is marketed as a phenibut based anti-stress supplement. Being a college student, I have the usual stress issues, and I also have trouble sleeping. I purchased this wondering if it could live up to its claims, or if it would be another controversial IBE product.

The first time I used this, I took about a teaspoon. I immediately noticed the effect, it was a mellow type of buzz. For the next two to three hours after this, I didn't feel like doing anything but sitting around. I also noticed the little things that would normally irk me didn't really bother me at all. On subsequent uses, I've noticed that a single does sometimes doesn't really seem to do anything, but an additional dose will usually do the trick.

The taste isn't really bad or good. The first dose tastes slightly sweet and a dose immediately afterwards tends to taste sour. I can't really put my finger on what the flavoring is, but it's something like strawberry/cherry.

My sleep cycle has been haywire of late thanks to all of my stimulants, so I've developed a new appreciation for Neurobalance. I take it two hours before bed as directed, and it helps to 'smooth' my sleep out considerably. Instead of waking up multiple times in the night, I actually sleep all the way to the alarm.

Overall, I'm very glad I purchased this product. Its main drawbacks are it's unpredictable effectiveness and price. I definitely wouldn't recommend it if you need to get things done, but if you just need some sleep or temporary stress relief, it's well worth the price.
