Body Octane (the original, not Game Day) is one of the all-too-rare stimulant-free pre-workout products, and it while it isn't perfect, it seems pretty good to me. The ingredient profile is solid, although it'd be nice to have 3.2 g of beta alanine per scoop, rather than per 2-scoop serving so you don't have to use it twice daily. Citrulline malate, B-vitamins, aspartic acid and a 0-calorie content round out the profile. The taste is great, a nice, refreshing citrus that is reminiscent of Sprite with a little bite. The mixability leaves a lot to be desired, as the bottom of my cup was left with a film that was hard to get off. The effects are pretty good for a stim-free compound, a nice boost in energy, recovery and endurance. Unfortunately, I had some serious itching and skin tingling that lasted for a long time, so long that it became irritating.

A great all-around supplement that can compliment any lifters stack. It is a perfect formula that follows through with its claims.

Taste: I was a bit weary before receiving the product as I would not necessarily choose to drink a citrus-y flavored product. The taste was sweet as expected, but really refreshing. For those who like the sweet taste, this is for you. Mixing it with cold water is where the taste is at its best. Solid 8/10

Mixability: No issues to report of here. No residue, powder, clumps left behind. I tested with from 6-16 ounces of water and the mixing was great. Perfect 10/10

Recovery/Endurance: This is the selling point of the product. I noticed the biggest difference during the workouts and not so much in between. It allowed me to train harder and longer at a high intensity. I put the product to the test both in the gym and during cardio days. Playing basketball for hours on end can be demanding, but this product gave me the extra edge after a long day on the court. In the gym feeling the lactic acid build up can cause quite a burn, but this product was able to buffer it and allowed me to crank out those extra reps to give me the best workout possible. Another perfect score 10/10.

Price: You can get the product for around $45 on-line give or take and as I am a college student it is tough to spare money. However, you do get exactly what your advertised for in this product with its great endurance/recovery boost. Price 7/10, Bang for your buck 8/10.

What matters the most..

Will I purchase it in the future? Without question.
