Written by soundcheck129 - #1 reviewer - View all my reviews Like many other bars, Optimum's Lift Bars are pretty much protein-candy bars. This is because they contain more sugar (22 grams) than they do protein (20 grams). Some will argue that makes them great for immediately pre- or post-workout, which I guess is okay. However, it'd probably just be cheaper to have a protein shake along with a real candy bar than to have one of these. The bars do taste good, though it's nothing spectacular. 20 grams of protein for 250 calories is pretty good as far as bars go, and it's good to have the extended release blend - casein, soy, whey, wheat and egg is the largest variety I've seen in a bar. These are fortified with vitamins and minerals but also have HFCS if that worries you. All in all, I'd rather have a lean protein source and a real candy bar. 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful
