Written by calngyn - Top 10 reviewer - View all my reviews This tastes just like Watermelon juice, just like Jolly Rancher Watermelon candy actually. One of the best tasting supplements I've tried overall. I used 3 scoops, no post workout dose. At this dose, the profile is very good, BCAAs and no proprietary blend of them. I would however prefer a lesser amount of Glutamine replaced by more BCAAs (or other ingredients, but that would change the whole concept of the product) Mixes well, but like many BCAAs does foam when mixing. One criticism is that it's hard to tell if the scoop is accurate based on label - the blend does not appear very homogenous, as some scoops appear to contain more of the 'light' powder, and some more flavor crystals. During my cut, I did not notice more recovery (which is not really expected during a serious cut) but as far as effectiveness, I have not lost very much muscle at all, so I would assume the help of this product during my lifts/post-lifting cardio has had some benefit. The price is not outstanding, I would not buy it, but would use it again if reasonable. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful

Written by Anonymous I never used this type of "drink" before trying the Xtend. After one summer season, I am absolutely convinced that XTEND used during cycling and skating and long swim workouts is beneficial. Endurance and energy duration seem to be extended and thirst/hydration feel maintained during and after. WRT other strength activities like short burst weigtlifting I cannot comment. Additionally - I am not one of these taste weenies crying about flavor ( in fact I wish artificial color and flavor would be eliminated as these chemicals have no place nor benefit in the body). I used the orange which is OK ... there is no comment either way. Taste is low priority, performance is high. Mixability in the orange is fine with little to no precipitate after solutionized. Price point(depending upon source) is excellent at Bulk Nutrition. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful

Written by soundcheck129 - #1 reviewer - View all my reviews Well, it's official. I am the last person on earth to try Xtend. I elected to go all out with the special edition Blue Raspberry flavor and I was not disappointed. I was a bit hesitant after the horrifying experience of LG's Blue Raz flavor but this was much better, a tangy but sweet flavor. Mixability was average, some clumping even after shaking. Recovery has been decent, not mind-blowing, I guess we'll have to wait and see how long it takes me to turn into a jacked animal at .5% BF. Watermelon Endurance and recovery were the same as the Blue Raz (no surprise there), but the Watermelon seems even clumpier and more resistant to mixing. In addition, the taste is a bit too dull, even in minimal water; it's like a Jolly Rancher that you just fished out of your used bathing suit. I'd have to say this smells much better than it tastes. |
