Written by soundcheck129 - #1 reviewer - View all my reviews Real Gains is not your average gainer - it contains flaxseed oil, casein, and only six grams of sugar - impressive for something that has 88 total carbs! The serving size is 618 calories and provides 54 grams of protein, very solid. Taste isn't the best, but it does appear to have little pieces of strawberry in it, which is cool. No chemical taste, and a little creaminess. Mixability isn't anything to write home about, but a solid product nonetheless. 3 of 7 people found the following review helpful

Written by phrozen5100 - Top 5 reviewer - View all my reviews Taste - I've tried only vanilla. The taste is decent - definitely better than the horrible ON Vanilla Ice Cream but not as good as Body Fortress Vanilla. For whatever reason, I was really sick and tired of this flavor by the time I finished my tub. It most likely has to do with the mass quantities of this I would drink at one time. I'd imagine my experience would have been much more pleasant with a blender. Ease of Mixing - As far as weight gainers go, this mixes better than any other I've used. You certainly can't expect WPI mixing, but it does not leave large clumps of powder, unlike many gainers. Once again, I've never used this in a blender, but I'm sure it's great there. Value - Real gains, real value - no kidding. This has a good nutrition profile for the price as well as its other attributes. The amount of fiber the inulin adds is nearly negligible, but at least they tried here. Caseins are added as well which help to the point of value. Overall, this is a solid weight gainer. However, I would not purchase it again. Not necessarily because of its unique flaws, but rather because I can create my own much healthier/tastier weight gainer for slightly cheaper. Like most weight gainers, Real Gains is plagued by the base ingredient maltodextrin. You want a good weight gainer? 1.5 scoops whey + peanut butter + oats + optional banana all blended together. You're too lazy to do that? Then by all means, this product may be for you. 4 of 5 people found the following review helpful

Written by ponshoe - Top 5 reviewer - View all my reviews The taste is very decent on all flavors. Chocolate my favorite, then Banana and Strawberry followed by Vanilla. It mixes well on either, a shaker or a blender. Homemade gainers are usually cheap but they can take you some time to make them, with real gains you just need a shaker and youre set. Also you can add some other ingredients like Peanut butter, fruits, yogurth or whatever you want to add even more calories. A staple when im bulking, acutally i see it like a dessert. |
