Double Peanut Butter

It seems as though protein bar taste technology is making leaps and bounds, so now instead of cardboard you have bars with legitmate candy included. The Double Peanut Butter Protein Flurry bars contain Reese's Pieces on top of a typical chocolate peanut butter protein bar, and the result is pretty delicious, although not quite mind-blowingly so. The ingredient profile is surprisingly modest, with just 2 grams of sugar, 19 grams of carbohydrates, 5 grams of fat (4 grams saturated) and 16 grams of protein in an 175-calorie bar. Perhaps more impressive than the candy bar-esque layering and tast is the inclusion of probiotics and flax oilm not typically included in such bars but a great addition when sugar alcohols are used. The bar contains soy, milk and whey protein but also has partially hydrogenated oils and the most extensive ingredient list I've ever seen, so you may well find some flaws in the profile. The brand also offers bars double this size, which are better suited to bulking. A good buy, if you can find them for less than $2 per bar.
