Written by soundcheck129 - #1 reviewer - View all my reviews BodyTech is VitaminShoppe's store brand, and this definitely feels like a store brand product. I had heard this was produced by Optimum, so I decided to give it a go based on the reasonable price. For this product, though, the price was reflective of the quality - not very high. I usually don't have problems mixing up whey, but this was pretty clumpy for a non-casein-based powder. Things got worse from there; while chocolate shouldn't be a hard flavor to get right, this tasted odd and had a definite chemical element. The taste wasn't very good or distinctly chocolate, just kind of blah. The profile isn't amazing either - 1.5 grams of fat, 3 grams of carbohydrates, but just 17 grams of protein per serving. I might buy it again if I was really strapped. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful

Written by ponshoe - Top 5 reviewer - View all my reviews There are many other cheaper and higher quality proteins out there, i just didnt like it. The Taste is so weak and unnatural, it has a chemical aftertaste (i tasted the Chocolate version). The mixability is poor, you can't mix it well even in a shaker, since there are some clumps residues but if you shake it for longer, you will get it semi-done. Mainly concentrate, so its a cheap protein, few carbs as most and decent profile. On the good note, the price of it beat many others. There are often specials where you can buy two of these for 55 or even less! which makes this protein a deal but for an experienced user that has tried several proteins, this isn't an option even when its fairly cheap. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful

Written by phrozen5100 - Top 5 reviewer - View all my reviews Taste - I've tried both chocolate and vanilla. The vanilla protein tastes, well, bad. It's not absolutely putrid, but in the whole scheme of vanilla proteins it sits just a little bit above ON Vanilla Ice Cream and below Body Fortress Vanilla. Chocolate, on the other hand, is decent. When I say decent, I truly mean that. It tastes very mediocre, much like any other budget chocolate; but it is better than vanilla, IMO. Ease of Mixing - This takes a little more stirring than a quality isolate, predictably. Some minor clumping should be expected when blending by hand. I've used only this only in water. Value - This is the only place this mediocre little protein really shines. On sale this was a mere $13.00, and the regular price usually runs around $28.00 now. This proves to be one of the greatest values in whey protein available. Nutrition Profile - This is not a strong point for this product. A little fat here, a few carbs there and only 17g protein per 100kcal. Not so great for any keto diet, but otherwise, who cares. Overall, this is a pretty good protein - for the money. If you're on a tight budget and you have a local Vitamin Shoppe, this should definitely be an item of consideration. Don't expect anything stellar, though, because you just won't get it.
