Agreed with the other reviews: the builder bar is too much of a candy bar, 20 grams of sugar is too much of a blast to me. Clif put too much sugar into it simply, the bar is way too much of a candy bar, though it still has the good supplements. Plenty of protein and carbohydrates, it will definitely fill you up for a good amount of time. additionally, it does have a lot of other supplements, such as various vitamins and minerals, which is good. i used to sometimes take one of these before school in teh mornings to cover for breakfast, which worked pretty well. Though too sugary, it is still a good product, and you can get pretty cheap

My aunt usually buy these bars at walmart for a great price. I've seen them before but never looked close at them after trying them.

Ingredient profile 6.5/10 - They are in the mid term considered as high protein containing 20g but the bad news, its that protein coming from soy mainly. With all the hype of soy increasing estrogen levels ( of course in huge amounts ) its not a good point for sure. The carbs its another bad aspect, 30g of carbs are ok but 20g of sugar...ouch not for me, maybe for hardgainers, but def not for me, even when it has many organic ingredients, thats the only positive point IMO.

Taste 7.5/10 - Chocolate - Tastes like any other chocolate bar, just the typical taste and nothing to suprise. The Peanut Butter - can be too sweet, the PB is there but there is a time where you can't finish the bar and makes you very thirsty.

They are a good option for hardgainers or even for everyone instead of a fast food meal or many other unhealthy meals, but in my opinion, there are MANY other betters.

Though not a traditional "supplement" company, Clif has some solid products, the best of which is the Builder's Bar. It's more than just a protein bar, though, because in addition to the 20g of protein, it also has 23 vitamins. The biggest downer is the 20 grams of sugar, though the Chocolate Mint and Peanut Butter flavors are excellent. Not the best choice, but not the worst, a nice organic product.
