Cocoa Bean

Cytosport's Complete Whey is a pretty standard protein supplement, a blend of whey concentrate and hydrolysate. The serving size is a little funky - 22 grams - and you get 18 grams of protein along with 2 grams of carbohydrates and 1.5 grams of fat. This isn't the greatest profile ever, and it's not very filling at all, as it is around 10 grams smaller than most whey supplements. Mixability was good though, although the shake was a little on the thin side, so I'm not crazy about the consistency. The flavor was good, but not mind-blowing. To make the inevitable Muscle Milk comparison - this isn't as good, but it's not bad either. Complete Whey is a little more expensive than the most economical whey out there but isn't a rip off. However, the taste is comparable to some cheaper options or powders with better profiles so it's not a top choice in my book.

Many people claim that this product of Cytosport its totally disappointing, but i disagree. Cytosport made a great Whey protein with essential ingredient profile to meet your protein daily claims.

Taste: 8/10 Yes, the flavors aren't as strong as Muscle milk or other products from this brand, but they are still very good and you enjoy them, they dont leave any aftertaste and with milk they taste like real milkshakes, at least for the Vanilla and Cocoa bean.

Consistency: 8/10 At first i had some problems mixing it but with a shaker for 20-25 secs, youre set. Its liquid and not thick, like almost all wheys.

Profile: 7/10 Its a basic Whey protein, it isnt anything special because its mainly protein concentrate ( not the purest form of whey available ) but for the price, it can save you some bucks if you dont have problem digesting lactose. I would like to see a higher amount of protein per serving, but taking in consideration that it has more servings than average, that equals.

Recommend it? Yes of course, more if youre on a budget and it taste better than many others.

I read the other review and I do not entirely agree. This protein powder is great for the value. You can't beat a tub of whey for this price. When you compare to all the other brands and how they keep increasing their prices it is a shame to look past this gem of an item. Sure, the taste isn't as great as Muscle Milk's but it is derived from the same basic formulas and does not taste all that bad when you stick with basic flavors. For this I would limit your selection to either chocolate, vanilla, possibly strawberry (Even though thats a risk mostly). I have been using their chocolate powder all the time and have had no problems. Seems to maintain my appetite and comes in handy to make shakes in between classes as I am still in school. In addition, this product provides a good amount of protein, low carbs, and helps anyone in the process of cutting. Don't overlook this potent protein at it's low price. It is definitely worth a try especially trying a conventional flavor such as chocolate.

I purchased this product with a great deal of prior Muscle Milk use. CytoSport did a fantastic job with the flavoring used in Muscle Milk, but something must have gone terribly wrong with the whey...

Taste - I purchased Cookies and Cream flavor, and boy was I in for a treat. The first time I took this was mixed in with my morning oats. I actually ended up puking this stuff back out with my oats after forcing it down. It tasted like pure chemical with some slight Cookies and Cream after taste. I've tasted many protein powders, and nothing comes close to being this bad. The only time that I could actually drink this stuff was when it was loaded with dextrose and honey; but I almost always just plugged the nose and chugged. I guess it's possible that I received a bad batch, but I won't take that chance in the future.

Ease of Mixing - Nothing special here - just your average somewhat-clumpy whey protein concentrate mix.

Value - With the whey protein price increases of late, this stuff has just lost all competitive edge. It's still based on whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate based proteins (Dymatize Elite, ON 100%, etc.) can be had for even cheaper. The servings are smaller here, so it may appear to be better as far as dollars/serving, but in the end, it's not worth it.

Other - This has a very good amino acid profile and a unique serving size. That's about all it has going for it.

Overall, I just can't fathom why anybody would wish to purchase this. This was a HUGE disappoint because I really love Muscle Milk. There is no way I will purchase this again and no way I could honestly recommend this to potential consumers. Do yourself a favor and avoid this.
