Written by soundcheck129 - #1 reviewer - View all my reviews I got several samples of this in a trade, and it seems that this is a Muscle Milk knock-off, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's low in carbohydrates but has a lot of fat - 18 grams per 348-calorie serving. A lot of the fat comes from MCTs and CLA, which is nice. The high fat content also may be why this was so filling, which is good or bad - if you're trying to bulk it may be a bit counterproductive. 32 grams of protein, from a variety of sources - casein and whey mostly. Sadly, the taste of this was not on par with Muscle Milk. Mixability was nice though, pretty thick which seems to indicate there's a fair bit of casein rather than a pixie-dusting. 0 of 0 people found the following review helpful

Written by ponshoe - Top 5 reviewer - View all my reviews Dymatize is a very good brand when talking about protein taste stuff, they know how to really get accurate flavors and get the client happy. The chocolate milk, strawberry and cookies and cream are VERY VERY good flavors. I got them on a special from a wholesale site, I was skeptical but decided to go ahead and I gotta admit I really felt in love with Mega Shake, even when I did never heard of it before. The ingredient profile is almost as exactly as the Muscle Milk. They are around the same price on most internet retailers, so its a flip coin choice, but whether you choose, you won't be disappointed. 1 of 2 people found the following review helpful

Written by phrozen5100 - Top 5 reviewer - View all my reviews Taste - The only flavor I've tried is Vanilla. The taste isn't quite as good as Muscle Milk, but it's strangely different and satisfying. I'm guessing that it's the Sunflower and Canola oils that give it this unique taste, but it's worth it to try to get a sample and find out. Ease of Mixing - Oh man, this is what really hurts it. It's safe to say that unless you have a blender, you'd best be prepared for a powdery explosion or two...in your mouth. This really can't begin to compete with Muscle Milk as far as ease of mixing, but it does fair better than ON 100% Casein. Value - Back when I purchased this, it was called Mega Milk and it was a much better value for the money - like a poor man's Muscle Milk alternative. But oh how times change, and oh how dairy prices increase even faster than the inflation of the dollar. There was a time when the savings would have justified the purchase of this, but alas, times do change. Other - The ingredient profile is remarkably similar to Muscle Milk. That's about all to say for this. Overall, this is a decent product, but due to mixing issues, it just can't compete with Muscle Milk. If you do happen to be in need of a Muscle Milk alternative, this has a unique flavor which Muscle Milk does not. If all you need is a nice pre-bed casein blend, though, you might as well look elsewhere. Results 1 - 3 of 3 |
