I hadn't heard of Mason Natural prior to buying this product but I figured all melatonin was created equal. Despite each dose of Melatin containing 3mg of melatonin (the same as my usual Optimum melatonin), I found that this did not really have much of a sedative effect. While I felt a little calmer, it didn't seem to help me get to sleep at all, which is unfortunate as that's why I take it. However, I do feel drowsy in the morning, so there seems to be some sort of hangover effect. I sleep pretty soundly through the night when taking Melatin, so it does seem to promote restful, deep sleep, it just takes a long time to kick in. Not the best product, but pretty cheap, though most melatonin products are.
