Written by phrozen5100 - Top 5 reviewer - View all my reviews Taste - The only flavor I've tried is watermelon. While not the best tasting protein I've had, it did taste better than most of your traditional vanilla/chocolate flavors offered by various companies. This tends to create a more 'watery' shake than some concentrate based shakes. Ease of Mixing - The first whey protein isolate I ever used was Syntrax Nectar. Nectar mixed like a dream and hence became my standard for judging others. Unfortunately, Substance does not mix anywhere nearly as easily. In fact, even isolate/concentrate blends I've tried such as Dymatize Elite mix better than this stuff. You can expect a bit of clumping here. Value - By itself, Substance is nothing special whatsoever in terms. However, it's not difficult to find it on sale with Scivation Xtend in a combo deal (see www.bodybuilding.com). In that case, it becomes a better value. Ingredient Profile - This is certainly a strong point for Substance. It offers a lot of protein in a minimal calorie package - with only 1 carb. So there we have it - this is a pretty standard isolate with the exception of the Xtend/Substance combo deal. That being said, Xtend is solid stuff, and it would almost be foolish not to pay a little extra for this. Results 1 - 3 of 3 |
