Written by soundcheck129 - #1 reviewer - View all my reviews Quest just unveiled its new, 100% natural line, which was a bit confusing because it seemed as though their original bars were all-natural as well. Apparently the difference lies in the use of stevia in the new bars and sucralose in the old Quest bar line. The new natural line also has fewer flavors - lemon cream pie, chocolate peanut butter, cinnamon roll, strawberry cheesecake and coconut cashew. The taste of the Lemon Cream Pie is absurdly good, pretty much Ultra Peptide 2.0 in protein bar form. Really, it's almost obnoxiously tasty, with distinct lemon and cream flavors. The texture is much different than other bars because it's soft, although the bars tend to be a bit dry. About 10 seconds in the microwave enhances the flavor. The all-natural profile is excellent, no more sugar alcohol laden bars for once. You also get 20 grams of protein for 170 calories, which is great even for dieting. Just 6 grams of fat, none of which are saturated, and 17 grams - yes, that's right - of fiber per bar. It really doesn't get better than this in terms of profile and versatility. However, being low in calories, the bars don't provide much energy and are surprisingly not very filling. The protein comes from WPI and MPI, which is also a nice change from bars with "soy protein nuggets" as the main protein source. The only downside is that they are a bit expensive and as far as I know can only be purchased online, so there's no instant gratification. I'm pretty sure I can live with that, though.
